Our Iowa e-therapy or e-visit program is a service provided by a behavioral health professional to an established patient using a web-based or similar electronic-based communication network for a patient encounter. This communication occurs over the phone or by way of telecommunication.
State-Wide Access
We can provide Iowa e-Therapy for first-time visits and established clients, who can be seen via our modern and convenient e-Therapy program. A New Leaf Mental Health and Wellness Center provides e-therapy classes as allowed by The Iowa Code and Iowa Department of Public Health. Evaluations and classes are given via telephone and provided by one of our counselors to patients throughout the entire state of Iowa, regardless of where a patient or potential patient resides, or where the arrest occurred.
Currently A New Leaf Mental Health and Wellness Center is accepting new patients from all counties and communities in Iowa, including urban and rural communities for our Iowa E-Therapy program.
Evaluations and treatment are completely given via phone or other electronic medium, eliminating barriers such as transportation, child care, court restrictions or disabilities.
Convenient, Effective Treatment
A New Leaf offers services via telehealth that are convenient for those who live in rural areas, having a suspended drivers license, employment scheduling or childcare responsibilities. A New Leaf takes phone calls until 7:00pm and uses the same curriculum as in face-to-face treatment and believes that telehealth is an effective treatment delivery to all people of Iowa.
We also accept Medicaid, which covers some services, in an effort to reach those who otherwise are unable to access this program or afford treatment. As of September 2019, all services will be maximized at A New Leaf Mental Health and Wellness Center in order to reduce or eliminate the need to ever visit our physical office.
Our services include:
- OWI evaluation
- Assessments
- Extended Outpatient Program
- Early intervention classes (for both adolescence and adults)
- Continuing Care Program
- 12-Hour Drinking Driving Class
Our offices will continue to be available at all times for those who rather meet with a counselor on a face-to-face basis. The e-Therapy program is a unique program for those seeking substance abuse treatment in Iowa.
You do not need any special equipment to access the e-Therapy program, these services can be provided via telephone or secure video conferencing.
